Executive Board

The Rutgers Entreprenuerial Society was conceived by the five members of the Executive Board in August 2008. Through persistent strategizing and collaboration, the Rutgers Entrepreneurial Society was established as a premiere student business organization at Rutgers University.

The Executive Board is responsible for oversight of the organization, strategic planning, and establishing beneficial partnerships. The main mission of the Executive Board is to provide a strong outlet for entrepreneurial education at Rutgers University.


 

Mikhail A. Naumov, President, Founder

Mikhail Naumov is a Sophomore at the School of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University. While pursuing an undergraduate business degree in Supply Chain Management, minor in Economics, he explores his personal interests with an additional minor in Organizational Leadership. Mikhail conceived the Rutgers Entrepreneurial Society as a Freshman in 2007 when he assessed the need for entrepreneurial education at Rutgers University. Outside of the organization Mikhail serves as the Class Representative to the Rutgers Business Governing Association, and is a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, the Co-ed Professional Business Fraternity. His professional interests include entrepreneurship, hospitality, and organizational development. Past experiences include internships at Morgan Stanley, Somerset County Business Partnership (Chamber of Commerce), and Trump National Golf Club where he currently works part time as a Management Trainee.
Mikhail enjoys personal development, networking, public speaking engagements, and reading. Hobbies include traveling and thriving on exciting experiences with friends and family.
Mikhail developed a distinct interest in entrepreneurship while growing up in Russia and witnessing the wonders of free-market capitalism. He has developed a passion for it and hopes to inspire others to see the benefits of free enterprise. Industries of interest include hospitality, professional services, education, and social entrepreneurship.

 


 

Benjamin Lapidus, Vice President Financial Affairs, Founder

Benjamin Lapidus is a Sophomore at the Rutgers Business School. While pursuing an undergraduate business degree in Finance, with minors in Economics and Mathematics, he is currently searching for avenues to use his technical degree to push past the corporate model and take control of his future to become financially free. Benjamin came on board with the idea of the Rutgers Entrepreneurial Society while pledging with both Mikhail and Melissa for Alpha Kappa Psi, the co-ed professional Business Fraternity, as a Freshman in 2008. In addition to being Head of the Professional Department for AKPsi, Benjamin serves as a Programming Committeman on the Rutgers Business Governing Association. He is a member of the Little Investment Bankers of Rutgers and has operated as the Freshman Representative for the Diverse Business Students' Association. Past work experiences include internships at Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Trien Rosenberg Accounting and Consulting Firm.
Benjamin is professionally intrigued by entrepreneurship, consulting, business valuation, and operational processes. His hobbies include life-living experiences such as extreme sports and travel adventures, musical engineering, composition, and performance, and martial arts.
Benjamin developed his interest in business and the entrepreneurial world through a groomed childhood raised by two business professionals and entrepreneurs who taught him to adapt and multi-task in a changing world. His favorite book is How To Win Friends and Influence People and the most inspirational thing he's every heard is, "I want to own my industry."

 


 

Melissa Lee, Vice President Marketing and Promotion, Founder

Melissa Lee is a sophomore at Rutgers University currently studying communication with a minor in Theater Arts. While pursuing her goals of working in the entertainment industry, she maintains a strong passion in the field of business. An active member of several of Rutgers University's organizations such as the Rutgers Entrepreneurial Society, Melissa takes part in other organizations on campus as well. She was Alpha Kappa Psi - The Professional Business Fraternity's Upsilon Pledge Class President, and currently in Alpha Kappa Psi's Public Relations committee, a member in the Rutgers Rising Leaders Institute, and also a co-founder of the organization, PROPS - PIKE Rutgers Outreach Program. Additionally, Melissa was Hunterdon Central Regional High School's 2007 Senior Class President and Co-President of the Chinese Honor Society. Her past work experience have been with various companies such as WRSU 88.7 New Jersey's Student-Run Premiere College Radio Station, Dr. Ruby Halper-Erkkila's Physician's Office, Pershing LLC - Bank of New York Mellon, DreamWorks Animation, and VH1 Music Television & RealTalentCasting. Melissa enjoys any outdoor activities such as travelling, hiking, camping, snowboarding, etc. She believes that everything in life is what you make out of it and taking part in an organization on campus such as the Rutgers Entrepreneurial Society and making the most out of it is an opportunity that everyone should take advantage of.

 


 

Janaki Shah, Vice President of Operations, Founder

 Janaki Shah is a Sophomore at the School of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University. While pursuing an undergraduate business degree in Economics & Communications, with a minor in Organizational Leadership she is on the path to establishing her career in the Event Planning Industry. Janaki met Mikhail and Benjamin through Rutgers Business Governing Association and through shared interests of Entrepreneurship and collaborated with Melissa, together forming Rutgers Entrepreneurial Society. As an involved and dedicated student on campus, she enjoys spending her time in various campus organizations in addition to Rutgers Entrepreneurial Society such as secretary of Rutgers University Student Assembly Allocations Board, Finance Chair of Rutgers University Programming Association, Sophomore Representative of Rutgers Business Governing Association and Vice President of Diverse Business Students Association. Through her involvement she has been given the chance to meet amazing people and gain valuable experiences. Janaki hopes to incorporate her passion for the culinary arts in addition to community service in her future career. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking and making the most out of each moment in life.
 
 
 

 

Wei-Luen Austin Suen, Vice President of Internal Strategies, Founder

Austin Suen is a Sophomore at the Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences. He is currently applying for the busniess school in hope of majoring in Accounting or Marketing with a minor in Cinema Studies. He is deeply involved with Rutgers Phi Beta Lambda and is one of the five founders of RutgersYOU.com. All his work experiences has been in Sales and retail, ranging from Gap.Inc to Home Depot. His short term goals include interning overseas for the summer, and starting a business. His long term goals include working in the entertainment industry and eventually producing films and TV series.
